Our tour of the Old Town, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978, begins with a brief visit to the old Jewish district of Kazimierz, inextricably linked with the history of the Jews of Kraków. Kazimierz was buzzing from the late 15th century to the tragic years of the Holocaust. After 1989 there was a wave of return migration to Kazimierz, and in 1993 Steven Spielberg shot his "Schindler's List" there, thereby making Krakow and Kazimierz an even more recognisable landmark in Europe. Then we will go to the Wawel Hill, over which tower the Royal Palace with its impressive arcaded Renaissance courtyard and the famous Gothic cathedral - the place of coronation and the necropolis of Polish kings. After visiting the Cathedral and the Royal Chambers with a great hall called "Poselska" (The Envoy Hall), whose ceiling with 30 carved human heads and an impressive collection of tapestries woven in Brussels will make you astonished, we will go to the oldest university college - the Collegium Maius, with a beautiful Gothic courtyard, to finish the tour in the heart of Kraków - the Main Market Square - the largest medieval square in Europe with St. Mary's Church - a soaring, Gothic church inside which you can admire the impressive altar by Wit Stwosz (Veit Stoss).

  CITY BIKE TOUR

Price: 30 € / person

Duration: 4 hours

Time: daily morning

The tour is an excellent way to get an overview of the city and to get off the beaten paths, where most visitors spend their time. Along the way, you can learn the facts, hear the legends, enjoy the view, take some great pictures, meet other part of the tour is in the Old Town, where we visit the Main Market Square, the Czartoryski Museum, the main gate & the Old City walls, St. Mary's church and the trumpet player and talk about Copernicus, statues and Polish food among other things. We then start to leave the centre behind us and get away from the touristy bit and go to
travellers and get a little exercise at the same time! The tour is also a great way to make the most of your time in Kraków, getting two days of sightseeing in a few hours and going to places most visitors just read about!

Our tour is designed to give you the best of both worlds - part things you expect and want to see & part things you probably didn't know were here. We have had seven years of experience with the tour and we are confident that you will be happy with the results! The first

some places far from the centre, like Kazimierz, the old Jewish part of town, the Jewish cemetery, the Jewish ghetto from WWII, and then to Oscar Schindler's Factory. We will also talk about nightlife, Polish football hooligans, life in the ghetto and everything you could possibly want to know about "Schindler's List". Then we will make our way back to the centre with a nice ride along the river to see the fire-breathing dragon of the Wawel Castle before making stops to talk about John Paul II and the university life in Kraków.

  JEWISH CULTURE ROUTE

For many centuries Jews played their part in creating the history and culture of the city of Kroke, as Kraków is known in Yiddish. Before World War II they made up as much as 25% of the city's population. A tour around Kazimierz - the former Jewish district, preserved in excellent condition until today - will introduce you to the world of their rich culture, customs and history. It was there that the renowned philosopher Mojżesz Isserles (called Remuh) taught, Helena Rubinstein was born, who is considered to have been one of the richest women in the world, and the esteemed director, actor and screenwriter Roman Polanski spent his childhood. The old Jewish district, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978, became an even more recognisable landmark in Europe following the release of the famous "Schindler's List". You will be introduced to the history of the extermination of the Jews of Kraków, which is the background for the events described in the Spielberg's film, as you will be wandering the streets of the former ghetto. That is the place where Jews were locked up during World War II, and they were sent to death camps from there. A display in the Schindler's Factory Museum will complement the information, which is the story of Kraków and the fate of the Polish and Jewish population during World War II, but also about the Germans - occupiers who arrived here on 6th September, 1939 and brutally stopped a centuries-old history of Polish-Jewish Kraków. The story of World War II mingles with everyday life there, and private life with the tragedy that affected the whole world.

  COMMUNISM TRAM AND WALKING TOUR

Price: 75 € / person

The price includes: guided tour, tram ticket, drink in "Stylowa" restaurant.

Departure point: will be confirmed

Additional information: Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Not wheelchair accessible.

The city centre in Kraków is interesting, but it doesn't differ that much from other European medieval cities? Poland was supposed to be grey and communist, but there are big shopping centres around and well-known global brands? We all speak English and your English-Polish phrasebook (bought with considerable difficulty) is completely useless? Don't worry, there is a place only 40 minutes away from the Market Square, where your above-mentioned ideas can still meet reality. It's Nowa Huta - the ideal communist city that grew up after the war to provide a place to live for thousands of workers coming here to work in the biggest steelworks - a gift to the Poles from Stalin himself. Here you can still see excellent examples of socialist realist architecture, interior design straight from the 1970s, and even a real tank and raid shelters prepared carefully by Communists against NATO attacks during the Cold War.

A tour of Nowa Huta starts at your centrally located hotel, from which we go to a nearby tram stop to embark on a journey by tram to Centralny Square (in the shape of the communist star) - the most important point of the city designed in the 1950s. We will go across the square to stop for a cup of coffee or tea at the "Stylowa" restaurant, where time really stood still and everything, even the staff, deceptively resembles the climate of those days. After a short break we will go further, delving into the complex mesh of interconnected blocks, see the old shelters and a Soviet tank, and then visit the "Sphinx" Youth House, which was set up as one of the cultural institutions to ensure fair working-class family entertainment. Right next to it you can see the edifice of the People's Theatre (Teatr Ludowy), known for its innovative stage productions, and a few steps further a church built on the spot where in 1960 there were regular fights to protect the cross between the theoretically non-believing inhabitants of the ideal communist city and the citizens' militia trying to remove this Catholic sign. However, another church located nearby - the Lord's Ark - became the true symbol of the fight. Having seen this special place, we will go through the local market to a tram stop to go back again to the modern, colourful city centre.

The tour of the Museum, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978, comprises both parts of the former concentration camp - Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau - and a documentary film presenting the first moments after the camp was liberated. The Auschwitz camp has become a symbol of terror, genocide and the Holocaust. It was established by the Nazis in 1940 in the suburbs of the city of Auschwitz, which was integrated into the Third Reich. Today, on the area of approx. 200 hectares you can see preserved ruins of the gas chambers and places filled with human ashes, primitive barracks for prisoners and miles of the camp fence and roads.

Please note that temperature in the mountains is lower then in other regions.

In the 19th century Zakopane was a sleepy village inhabited by the Polish highlanders who - living for years in isolation - created their own unique culture. The special atmosphere and natural beauty of the place was discovered by Tytus Chałubiński. In a short time, artists and crème de la crème of the society declared Zakopane their favourite place in Poland, where they rested, created works of art and had affairs... Currently, the town is visited by thousands of tourists who, desiring to get to know its tradition, often complain about the "cheesiness" of 21st-century Zakopane. That is why we decided to show the face of "the winter capital of Poland" and its surrounding area which still reflects the charm of the past and the beauty of nature.

  THE DUNAJEC RIVER GORGE

Price: 88 € / person

Duration: 9 hours

Time: Monday or Thursday morning

Pick up time: will be confirmed

The price includes: tour with a licensed guide, entrance tickets, transportation.

Departure point: the bus park at 7, Powiśle St., opossite site to Sheraton Grand hotel.

Flowing through the Pieniny, the Dunajec river forms a curving, rocky gorge of about 9 km. The gorge is surrounded by walls which are a couple of hundred metres long, and whose limestone cliffs blend beautifully with the forests that grow on them. The unique landscape of that area attracts crowds of tourists from all over the world each year, and rafting on the Dunajec is without a doubt the biggest tourist attraction in Poland. A Dunajec Rafting Trip starts at the marina in Sromowce-Kąty, is 18 km long and takes about 2-3 hours, depending on the water level. Rafting takes place on specially adapted, safe rafts made of five canoes. One raft takes 10-12 people at once and is run by two experienced rafters. The Polish-Slovak border runs along the most part of the Dunajec Rafting Trip route. Another attraction of the tour is a visit to Niedzica Castle, built in the 14th century by the Hungarians to protect an important trade route leading through the Dunajec Valley, and related to a remarkable story of the Incas who found refuge here.
